Me, Myself & The Others

Social media is a tool that we use to design ourselves. With each post we can shape, edit and construct our identities and sometimes express parts of ourselves that we otherwise feel we can’t. But at what price? When you post something online, anyone can print it off. In an age where everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame online everyday, what once was yours now belongs to everyone.

With this project my aim was to highlight the absurdities & vulnerabilities of social media by taking its contents and behaviours offline and out of context. By constructing different versions of self I want to challenge how dynamic one person can be with the use of the internet. However as I constructed these personalities online, I also created them offline by collecting and forging documentation to make physical evidence of their existence.
